Medicare Part A
Medicare Part A is often referred to as hospital insurance. It typically covers inpatient care in hospitals, care in a skilled nursing facility (for a limited time), hospice care, and some aspects of home health care. Most individuals are automatically enrolled in Part A when they become eligible for Medicare, and many do not pay a premium if they or their spouse paid Medicare taxes while working.
